After Texas School Shooting, Democrat Lawmaker Calls Republican Ted Cruz a ‘Baby Killer’

Responding to the deadly mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) attacked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), calling him a “baby killer.”

“F— you @tedcruz you care about a fetus but you will let our children get slaughtered. Just get your ass to Cancun. You are useless,” Gallego wrote in a tweet.

The Democrat congressman’s comment was in response to a tweet quoting Cruz as saying “when there’s a murderer of this kind, you see politicians try to politicize it, you see Democrats and a lot of folks in the media whose immediate solution is to try to restrict the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens.”

“Just to be clear, f— you @tedcruz you f— baby killer,” Gallego added in another tweet.

Other radical leftists on Twitter also jumped on the bandwagon of attacking Cruz, responding to a tweet in which the Republican senator said that he and his wife were praying for the children and families in the wake of the shooting.

“Heidi & I are fervently lifting up in prayer the children and families in the horrific shooting in Uvalde. We are in close contact with local officials, but the precise details are still unfolding. Thank you to heroic law enforcement & first responders for acting so swiftly,” Cruz tweeted.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) replied by tweeting: “Aren’t you slated to headline a speaking gig for the NRA in three days – in Houston, no less? You can do more than pray. Faith without works is dead.”

“Their blood, your hands,” radical actor-turned-activist George Takei claimed in response to Cruz’s tweet.

Filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner jumped on Twitter after the mass shooting to immediately politicize the tragedy, blaming the GOP for children being killed.

“The blood of every child that dies of gun violence in this country is on the hands of the Republican Party,” Reiner tweeted.

It’s odd how this blame game is so one-sided. Every time someone dies from gun violence, it is the fault of Republicans, according to the left. But when the right tries to make a similar argument about violence committed by illegal immigrants being the fault of the left, that is a horrible generalization and anyone who makes that argument is demonized as a bigot.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) also took a swipe at Republicans in the aftermath of the deadly massacre, saying that anyone who proposes additional firearms as a solution to the problem of shootings is “a sociopath.”

“We’ve had 2 decades of doing things the GOP-NRA way, maybe it’s time we tried something else because this sure as s*** is not working and the body count is only growing. If your response to these mass shootings is ‘we need more guns,’ you’re a sociopath,” Swalwell tweeted.

Of course, the same argument could be made about the left’s policies. Clearly, “gun-free zones” aren’t working. Democrat-run cities have some of the strictest gun-control laws in the country. Schools are largely gun-free areas, as most don’t even have armed security guards. Yet, gun crime is prevalent in Democrat-run cities, and school shootings still happen despite schools being “gun-free zones.”

When you ban guns from an area, you aren’t stopping a criminal, you are only stopping a person who would obey the law. Criminals, by definition, don’t obey laws. Therefore, gun-free zones are excellent targets for criminals, because they know that no one there will be able to stop them.

Democrats’ proposed gun-control laws will do nothing to stop gun crime from happening. The best response to these shootings is to safely train and arm more people so that they are able to protect themselves, and the people (and children) around them.
