CBZ Management has confirmed that gangs, specifically the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua, have taken control of several of their apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado. CBZ, which has managed the properties since 2019, shared the grim reality of escalating violence and intimidation after the gangs moved in.
The situation reached a critical point when a CBZ employee was attacked by gang members after refusing a bribe. Since the assault, illegal occupants have been found in multiple units, and staff members have been receiving threats.
Despite contacting city officials and federal agencies, CBZ says they have been left to fend for themselves. The FBI, Aurora Police Department, and Homeland Security confirmed the presence of the gang but told CBZ their problem was just “a blip on the radar” compared to larger national concerns.
As tenants fled out of fear, CBZ tried to appeal to the local government for assistance, even suggesting federal intervention. However, some city officials have blamed CBZ for supposed code violations, leaving the company frustrated and desperate for help.
Councilwoman Dani Jurinsky intervened on behalf of a tenant, gathering video evidence of gang activity. CBZ is now publicly calling out the media for failing to accurately report on the gang takeover and the lack of action by local officials.
