Biden Says Happy Birthday To ‘Great President’ Kamala Harris

On Monday, President Joe Biden celebrated the birthday of Vice President Kamala Harris — but he once again referred to her as the “president.”

“Happy birthday to a great president,” Biden said, referring to Harris’ birthday on October 20th.

Outkick founder Clay Travis shared a clip of the gaffe on Twitter, writing: “Joe Biden just wished Kamala Harris a happy birthday and said she’s a great president. I can’t believe I’m giving Democrats advice, but hide him in his beach house. Every time he speaks the red wave gets higher.”

Biden’s comments came during a White House reception for the Diwali holiday.

“I know well, celebrating Diwali about a few years, days ago, it was also Kamala’s birthday,” the president said, joking: “She turned 30.”

First Lady Jill Biden also complimented Harris while introducing her, stating: “Your warmth, wisdom and strength are a beacon to us all.”

The president managed to spot two young children in the audience during his speech, inviting them to come up onto the stage to join him.

“You want to come up?” Biden asked. “You don’t have to but you can.”

He then walked over to the side of the stage to escort the kids up to the podium.

“This is my impression of light,” Biden bizarrely stated.

This was not the first time that Biden mistakenly gave Harris a promotion.

In December 2020, before being sworn in to office, Biden referred to Harris as the “president-elect” during a COVID-19 briefing.

“I hope the president will clearly and unambiguously urge all Americans to take the vaccine,” he said, referring to then-President Donald Trump. “I took it to instill public confidence. President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason.”

During an appearance at the South Carolina State University commencement ceremony in December 2021, Biden once again mentioned “President Harris.”

“Of course, President Harris is a proud Howard [University] alum,” he said.

While speaking about voting rights to students at the Atlanta University Center Consortium in January 2022, Biden again referred to Harris as the president.

“Last week, President Harris and I stood in the United States Capitol to observe one of those before and after moments in American history,” he said, referencing the January 6 Capitol riot.

There are several other instances of Biden referring to Harris as the president, and the first lady, along with numerous other gaffes throughout his tenure in the White House.
