Since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, his tenure has been characterized by gross incompetence and negligence, especially when it comes to securing and protecting the border. New reports now suggest that a record number of border deaths has been registered in Biden’s first two years in office, according to The Epoch Times.
The Epoch Times, which submitted a Freedom of Information request in October 2022, revealed that a record 880 illegal immigrant deaths were registered for the 2022 fiscal year ending Sept 30, 2022. That figure is the highest since authorities began recording the data in 1998. The fiscal year 2021 came second, with 566 border deaths recorded.
Former CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan told The Epoch Times that the increased death rate at the border is a result of the rise in the number of illegal immigrants coming in.
“When you increase the number of illegal aliens coming by 500 percent, you’re going to increase all the suffering, tragedies, and inhumane actions associated with that,” Morgan said.
Morgan added that with increased illegal border crossings comes an increase in the number of those that are being trafficked.
“The number of those that are… assaulted expand, the numbers of those that die expand. It’s a game of numbers,” Morgan added.
Morgan, who blamed Biden for the suffering and humanitarian crisis at the border, said that the president has blood on his hand because he knew what was happening at the border.
