Newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi has begun executing President Donald Trump’s agenda to restore justice and remove Deep State influence from the Department of Justice. In her first days in office, Bondi has issued key directives aimed at reining in politically motivated prosecutions and eliminating federal support for sanctuary cities.
One of Bondi’s first actions was launching the Weaponization Working Group, a task force focused on investigating how federal agencies were used for political purposes. The group is reviewing high-profile cases, including those connected to January 6, to determine if prosecutorial overreach played a role in targeting political opponents.
Bondi also ordered an immediate suspension of federal funding for sanctuary cities, cutting off taxpayer dollars to jurisdictions that refuse to comply with federal immigration laws. Under her directive, the DOJ will stop issuing grants and contracts to any city that provides protection to illegal immigrants.
Beyond defunding sanctuary cities, Bondi has directed a full review of federal officials who have engaged in politically motivated investigations. This review will assess actions taken against Trump and his allies, as well as efforts to block the administration’s policies through bureaucratic obstruction.
The Trump administration has been vocal about its intent to dismantle the influence of unelected officials who have used their positions to shape policy. Bondi’s DOJ is moving quickly to implement reforms that ensure federal agencies are accountable to the American people.
As Bondi continues making changes at the DOJ, the administration has indicated that additional measures will be taken to prevent government overreach and end the misuse of federal law enforcement.
