The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam recently claimed that the Biden-Harris Department of Justice’s probe into alleged Russian influence among right-wing influencers is little more than a distraction from larger scandals involving China and corporate media.
Kassam shared his concerns on the Charlie Kirk Show, where he described the DOJ’s focus on Russia as part of a “confected narrative.”
According to Kassam, the probe targets Canadian personality Laren Chen, who has been notably critical of President Donald Trump in recent years. Other figures like Tim Pool and Benny Johnson, often associated with conservative media, appear to have been involved unintentionally, according to the DOJ. Kassam said that despite this, the media continues to push a narrative of Russian influence on the right, drawing comparisons to the 2016 election.
Kassam argued that the real threat lies in foreign influence over leftist politicians and media outlets, especially from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He cited the example of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), who has faced allegations of accepting bribes from foreign governments, as well as the influence of CCP-backed organizations like the Confucius Institutes in American schools.
Kassam also turned his criticism toward corporate media giants, stating that companies like CNN, Bloomberg, and News Corp are heavily influenced by foreign money. These outlets, he claimed, engage in “pay-for-play” operations, where foreign interests affect their coverage. In contrast, Kassam proudly noted that The National Pulse is entirely funded by its readers, allowing it to avoid such conflicts of interest.
The timing of the DOJ investigation, coming just before an election, is no coincidence according to Kassam, who argues it is meant to distract from more serious foreign influence issues plaguing the left.
