Elon Musk May Sue Tim Walz Over MSNBC Interview

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz could be facing a lawsuit from Elon Musk after making inflammatory remarks about the billionaire on MSNBC. Musk indicated Wednesday that he is strongly considering legal action over Walz’s claim that he performed a Nazi salute at President Donald Trump’s inauguration rally.

Walz made the remark during an appearance on “The Rachel Maddow Show,” where he was asked about political tensions following Trump’s return to office. Without hesitation, Walz declared, “Of course he did,” when asked whether Musk had made the gesture, despite the claim having been dismissed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others.

Filmmaker Robby Starbuck later shared a video of the interview on X, writing that he hoped Musk would sue him “for all he’s worth.” Musk responded, “I think I will,” and followed up by calling Walz “creepy” while using a clown emoji to mock him.

The accusation against Musk came from an event at Trump’s inauguration rally, where he briefly tapped his chest before raising his arm. Left-wing commentators seized on the image, but Netanyahu publicly rejected the idea that Musk was making a Nazi gesture.

Musk has increasingly drawn attacks from Democrats since spending $277 million to help Republicans in 2024. Walz, who ran as Kamala Harris’ running mate, has continued launching public accusations after losing the election.

As of now, neither Walz nor MSNBC has addressed Musk’s response. Bloomberg lists Musk’s fortune at $428 billion, making him the wealthiest person in the world.
