Germany has deported thousands of illegal migrants to Poland in recent months, sparking concerns about border security and heightening tensions between the two countries. Reports indicate that 3,140 migrants were expelled from Germany’s Brandenburg region by the end of June, with the total number of deportees from other German regions potentially reaching 10,000.
Journalist Aleksandra Fedorska, reporting for independent Radio Wnet, highlighted the increased presence of Polish Border Guard officers along the German border, describing it as a positive development in managing the situation. Fedorska noted, “We can see them on the highways and conducting mobile checks in the border zone. Just a few months ago, there was no sign of the Border Guard in this area.”
The deportations have brought the issue of illegal migration to the forefront of public discourse, particularly as tensions between Germany and Poland over immigration policies continue to grow. The situation has fueled public concerns in both countries, with many questioning the effectiveness of current immigration policies and their impact on national security.
