IRS Whistleblower: Federal Prosecutors Are Obstructing Hunter Biden Investigation

A whistleblower with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) alleged that federal prosecutors are trying to obstruct a criminal investigation of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

Just The News reported that the letter to Congress from the whistleblower’s attorney, Mark Lytle, reveals that the agent will provide detailed explanations to congressional tax-writing committees concerning a serious tax charge case.

Although the whistleblower did not mention Hunter, Just The News confirmed that the allegations involve an investigation of Hunter by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a Trump appointee.

The letter states that the agent has witnessed “preferential treatment and politics” being used by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to block any attempts at criminally prosecuting Hunter. If true, this would contradict Attorney General Merrick Garland’s claim that the DOJ would not be involved in the investigation against Hunter.

Citing the allegations, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) declared that the Biden administration possibly committed “obstruction of justice.”

“It’s deeply concerning that the Biden Administration may be obstructing justice by blocking efforts to charge Hunter Biden for tax violations,” said Comer in a statement. “The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has been following the Bidens’ tangled web of complex corporate and financial records.”

“It’s clear from our investigation that Hunter and other members of the Biden family engaged in deceptive, shady business schemes to avoid scrutiny as they made millions from foreign adversaries like China,” the statement continued.

Lytle said his client is a career law enforcement official who doesn’t hold any political biases or use social media, adding that if his client is allowed to speak before Congress, he will identify several witnesses to support his claims of political interference.

“I believe he’ll be able to talk about these meetings that he attended, that were with both agents and prosecutors and how he summarized those meetings and put it in writing and distributed those to folks within the IRS and sometimes to other agents as well,” Lytle explained.

Since December 2020, Hunter has acknowledged that he has been under criminal investigation over his taxes. In 2022, his representative revealed that Hunter approximately paid $2 million in overdue tax bills while confidently expressing that Hunter would be cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.
