Moore Urges Biden To Use ‘Full Immunity’ In Final 100 Days

Filmmaker Michael Moore is encouraging President Joe Biden to take extreme steps in his final months in office, using what Moore calls “full immunity” granted by a recent Supreme Court decision. In a post on Substack, Moore proposed a series of actions that Biden could take without fear of political repercussions, given his status as a “lame duck” president.

Moore’s suggestions include declaring the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as the 28th Amendment and canceling student and medical debt. He also encouraged Biden to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center and return the land to Cuba, suggesting it is no longer necessary for the U.S.

On foreign policy, Moore urged Biden to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine and to withdraw U.S. support for Israel in its conflict with Hamas. He also called on Biden to empty the Federal Death Row, commuting sentences to life without parole, and to pardon non-violent drug offenders.

Moore’s list also included granting clemency to Edward Snowden, whom he believes deserves a medal for his whistleblower actions. In a final, humorous suggestion, Moore asked Biden to ban spam text messaging, suggesting that such an action would make Biden a hero to many Americans.

Moore’s message to Biden highlights a push from the left for the president to use his remaining time in office to take decisive, progressive action, while he still holds significant executive power.
