Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) passed the one million mark on the number of illegal aliens it has released into the interior of the U.S. since January 2021.
DHS released more than 95,000 illegal border crossers last month, pushing the total for the Biden administration to almost 1.05 million. The number of new illegal aliens released into the country since Biden assumed office is now greater than the population of Austin, Texas.
The numbers released by DHS do not include the estimated hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who are able to enter the country without being apprehended by Customs and Border Patrol agents. It also does not include the tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) that are resettled around the nation by the federal government each month.
The “catch and release” open border policies the Biden DHS has implemented involve briefly detaining border crossers before they are transported to locations inside the country by way of commercial flights and buses typically paid for by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are funded by federal taxpayer dollars.
A DHS source recently told Breitbart News that the department is now functioning as a “full-service travel agency” for illegal aliens entering the country at the southern border. The source added that DHS is actively “aiding and abetting illegal entry,” and said, “It’s working like an Uber service.”
The DHS has been working to end the Trump-era public health order known as Title 42 that was designed to provide for illegal crossers to be rapidly returned to Mexico. A federal judge has ordered that the Biden administration has acted illegally in attempting to rescind the order and the case is making its way through the appeals process currently.
Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) has noted that even the Biden administration estimates that as many as 18,000 additional border crossers each day could be released into the U.S. if Title 42 is lifted. He pointed out that number amounts to “admitting a new state of Alaska every 40 days.”
The estimated number of illegal aliens now living inside the U.S. ranges anywhere from 11 million to 22 million. At least 8 million are estimated to be taking jobs that would otherwise be available to Americans and legal immigrants.
