Nathan Wade Served Subpoena After Evasion In Fani Willis Investigation

Nathan Wade, the former prosecutor who once led the Trump investigation for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, was served a subpoena on Thursday after avoiding service for nearly a week. The House Judiciary Committee, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), had issued the subpoena as part of its investigation into whether Willis’ prosecution of President Donald Trump is politically driven.

Wade reportedly went into hiding after the subpoena was issued last Friday, only to contact U.S. Marshals on Thursday to arrange for the service. The committee had been forced to involve the U.S. Marshals after Wade’s attorney refused to accept the subpoena on his behalf.

The Judiciary Committee, which has served over 100 subpoenas this Congress, called Wade’s evasion “extremely unusual.” Wade’s failure to respond to the committee’s emails and the use of U.S. Marshals to locate him raised concerns about transparency.

Wade’s role in the Trump case has been controversial ever since his relationship with Willis came to light. Wade stepped down from the case, but his involvement continues to draw attention. The Judiciary Committee is seeking Wade’s testimony to determine whether Willis’ case against Trump was politically motivated.

Wade had initially agreed to a voluntary interview but canceled, citing advice from Willis’ attorney. His testimony will now be rescheduled due to the delay in serving the subpoena.

Fani Willis’ case against Trump remains on hold as the Georgia Court of Appeals considers Trump’s legal efforts to disqualify her from the case.
