New Jersey Governor Asks For Federal Help On Drone Mystery

Gov. Phil Murphy has called on federal authorities to investigate a series of drone sightings across New Jersey. The unexplained activity has left officials searching for answers, with concerns about the drones’ purpose growing among residents.

Murphy said the FBI and Homeland Security have been involved in the investigation, but so far, no public safety threats have been identified. “We don’t see any concern to public safety,” Murphy stated, adding, “It’s really frustrating that we don’t have more answers.”

Most sightings have been reported along the Raritan River, with 49 incidents recorded in one evening. Witness accounts describe clusters of drones and potentially a fixed-wing aircraft, though authorities believe some reports may overlap.

The FBI has asked the public for help in identifying the drones’ source. Speculation has focused on the area’s pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries, which could be targets for industrial espionage or surveillance.

The advanced capabilities of modern drones have heightened concerns. Their small size and stealth make them difficult to track, while their potential use in reconnaissance adds to the mystery.

Murphy’s request for federal intervention reflects the growing urgency of the situation. The ongoing investigation aims to provide clarity and address public concerns about these unexplained sightings.
