NJ Senator Demands Emergency Drone Ban Amid Security Fears

State Sen. Jon Bramnick (R-NJ) has called for a “limited state of emergency banning all drones” as mysterious drone sightings across New Jersey raise alarms about public safety and privacy. The sightings, first reported in mid-November, have drawn attention from both state and federal officials.

“The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings,” Bramnick stated on X.

Reports of bright-light drones have surfaced in areas near President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course and the Picatinny Arsenal military base. Similar sightings have been reported in Staten Island, New York, adding to concerns about the drones’ purpose.

Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-NJ) has demanded federal agencies take swift action, urging the FAA and Department of Homeland Security to investigate. “The safety and privacy of our residents must be a top priority,” Kean said, calling for transparency and accountability.

Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has reassured the public that there is no immediate danger but emphasized continued monitoring of the situation. “We are in close coordination with federal and law enforcement partners to address these concerns,” Murphy said.

Bramnick’s proposed drone ban reflects growing frustration among New Jersey residents and lawmakers. The unexplained aerial activity has created an atmosphere of unease, sparking urgent calls for answers and decisive action.
