PLOT TWIST: California Store Bans Masks Over Rising Crime

In an ironic turn of events, a store in liberal California is banning masks due to skyrocketing crime.

The Kitson boutique in Beverly Hills altered its public policy: no masks allowed.
Fraser Ross, the owner, explained that the new rule is due to increasing crime in the area.

“At Kitson, we prioritized the safety of our staff and customers. We noticed a disturbing trend of individuals wearing masks to avoid identification in various situations, including but not limited to shoplifting, verbal [harassment] and physical assault,” Ross said in a statement.

What started as a supposed health mandate, masks have now been increasingly used by criminals as Democrat policies have lowered consequences on thug-like behavior.

“The mask mandate may have begun as a health precaution, but we believe it [is] now being used by some people for nefarious purposes,” Ross continued.

Luxury high-end stores have become targets and criminals have been doing smash-and-grab robberies. In addition, brazen burglary acts have increasingly been done in daylight hours when many witnesses are present.

One example occurred on August 13 when thieves ran their car into an outlet’s glass doors. They were then able to steal several expensive Chanel bags.

One of Kitsons’ employees expressed his support for the decision and explained the ramifications of lax crime laws.

“I used to be able to be a little more lax, but now I’ve got to be on all guards. It’s definitely changed in the last year or so,” Santos Hemenway said. “It’s not something we wanted to do, but it’s what we have to do to keep the safety of our employees and our assets.”

“Especially in the last few weeks, we’ve had multiple events where people have come in using masks and have chosen to steal or try to steal assets from our store, which is very unfortunate,” he continued.

California has had some of the country’s strictest mask and vaccine mandates. On August 22, Los Angeles County dropped the longstanding mask mandate. However, the county has hinted that more mask mandates may be reinstated in the future.

As Democrat-run cities continue to spiral into crime-ridden chaos, it seems only a matter of time before store owners give up and move to safer areas.
