Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View,” complained recently about being called a racist on social media for the racist views she espouses on her television show.
Hostin said, “The minute you start talking about reparations, people call you a racist and I’ve always said, you know, please, people need to start just looking up what the definition of racism is. It’s really a power dynamic, it’s not just about the color of your skin and I think when you talk about those who committed crimes owe reparations, those are the people the atrocities of slavery, who stole land, who killed indigenous people. Today is Indigenous People’s Day.”
She continued on her rant stating, “Those reparations are still owed and so to sort of try and subvert the conversation and bash the conversation and call people racist because you call out racism is something I get to experience every single day on social media, thank you very much. I am somehow a race bater and a racist because I call it like I see it. And I think it’s being used as a political wedge issue, everything is racist, everything is racist especially if you call it out.”
Sunny Hostin whines about getting called out as a racist on Twitter and spews the line that only white people can be racist.

Hostin was speaking specifically of former Auburn University football coach and current Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL). Tuberville coached for years at different schools and on different levels of the game, never having been publicly accused of racism until now.
Hostin, on the other hand, has been accused numerous times of harboring racist viewpoints. The most recent was when she called out Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., for not leaning “into being someone of color.”
Haley, the daughter of Indian immigrants, has been accused on numerous occasions for altering her name to get ahead in politics. Haley was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa, but has gone by the name “Nikki” since birth.
Haley has gone by “Nikki,” which means “little one” and is very common in Punjab, from the day she was born. For her to have “whitewashed” her name, her parents would have had to have known since she was an infant that she would one day run for political office in the U.S. and that the racial climate would be such that a name like “Nimrata” would have disqualified her from winning a political race.
During the same interview that Hostin wrongly called out Haley for “whitewashing her name, she then endorsed California Gov. Gavin Newsome (D) to run for president in 2024. Her reasons for endorsing Newsome, a white man, were due to his “charismatic nature,” “good looks,” and “real leadership.”
