Top Democrat Figures Suddenly Shift Tone As Party Reputation Tanks

Gavin Newsom and Harry Sisson are now speaking out against the very culture their party spent years promoting. In separate public appearances, both men said the Democrat Party’s public image has become too harsh and divisive — a dramatic reversal from their previous messaging.

Newsom, during an interview on Bill Maher’s show, said plainly that the Democrat brand is “toxic.” He criticized his party for relying on personal attacks and moral superiority instead of building real solutions. He insisted he still supports the party, but admitted it needs to “mature.”

Sisson has been at the center of controversy in recent weeks, as a scandal involving inappropriate Snapchat messages has cast a shadow over his online persona. His admission about the party’s image was met with skepticism, with many viewing it as a desperate pivot rather than an honest reflection.

Newsom’s remarks also came as multiple polls revealed the Democrat Party’s sinking favorability. In one survey, only 29% of Americans had a positive view of the party, while more than half said their opinion was negative.

Despite now pointing fingers at cancel culture, Newsom was often silent when conservatives were deplatformed or publicly vilified. Critics argue his comments are more about positioning himself for a future presidential run than holding his party accountable.

Sisson’s critics were even harsher. Some questioned whether his messaging was still being directed behind the scenes by party operatives looking to reshape the narrative.

Meanwhile, the divide inside the Democrat Party continues to grow, with figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pulling the base further left as moderates try to reverse the fallout.
