Trump Aims At Cleaning Up The Biden-Harris Child Trafficking Crisis

President Donald Trump’s administration has prioritized the fight against child trafficking, highlighting the devastating impact of policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration. Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff, announced, “Our message to everyone in the country is to cooperate fully with Immigration and Customs Enforcement so that we can end the scourge of child trafficking and child abuse that has been endemic these last four years.”

During a congressional hearing, lawmakers heard from whistleblowers and experts who detailed how unaccompanied minors have been placed at risk. Tara Rodas, formerly with HHS, shared that children were released to sponsors without sufficient vetting, leading to cases of abuse and exploitation. She stated that federal programs have inadvertently assisted traffickers, enabling criminal organizations to take custody of minors.

Retired Border Patrol agent J.J. Carrell testified about the prevalence of organ harvesting at the border, explaining that traffickers target vulnerable children who have no one to advocate for them. Alicia Hopper, a counter-trafficking expert, revealed that cartels actively monitor U.S. border policies to manipulate federal systems for their operations.

Lisa, who runs a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing trafficking victims, described the alarming rise in online ads for trafficked girls. She explained that platforms such as TikTok and Facebook have become hubs for these activities, with most ads now targeting Spanish-speaking buyers. Lisa’s organization has seen a sharp increase in cases involving migrant children since 2021.

Customs and Border Protection data shows that over 500,000 unaccompanied minors have crossed the border since 2021. More than 85,000 of these children are unaccounted for after being placed with sponsors, some of whom were approved without completing a background check.

The number of minors crossing the southern border has more than doubled compared to prior years, highlighting the urgency of addressing this crisis.
