In a bold move, former President Donald Trump has publicly challenged President Joe Biden to both a debate and a golf match, promising to donate $1 million to a charity of Biden’s choice if he wins. The offer came during a rally in Doral, Florida, where Trump addressed the crowd and proposed the idea as a way for Biden to redeem himself following a lackluster debate performance on June 27.
“Tonight, I’m officially offering Joe the chance to redeem himself in front of the entire world,” Trump announced. “So, Marco, and Byron and everybody, here’s what we’re going to do. You guys can be referees if you like, let’s do another debate this week so that Sleepy Joe Biden can prove to everyone all over the world that he has what it takes to be president. But, this time it will be man to man, no moderators.”
Trump’s challenge did not stop at a debate. He also proposed a golf match, claiming that Biden had expressed a desire to test his skills and stamina against Trump’s on the golf course during the presidential debate.
“I’m also officially challenging Crooked Joe to an 18-hole golf match right here,” Trump said, adding that he would “give Joe Biden ten strokes a side.”
“If he wins, I will give the charity of his choice, any charity that he wants, $1 million,” Trump declared. “And, I’ll bet you he doesn’t take the offer. Because he’s all talk. But, what that match will do is prove that Joe is in fact, all talk and no action.”
This challenge comes in the wake of mounting pressure on Biden from within his own party to step aside due to concerns about his health and performance. Trump’s taunt is aimed at both showcasing his own vitality and questioning Biden’s capabilities.
During the June debate, Biden and Trump had a heated exchange about their golf skills, with Trump boasting about his recent wins in club championships and Biden claiming to have lowered his handicap to a six while serving as vice president.
The proposed events are yet to be accepted by Biden, but they have already stirred significant public interest and media attention.
