Trump Confirms That Haley Will Never Be His VP

Amid speculation surrounding his potential running mate, former President Donald Trump unequivocally dismissed Nikki Haley as a contender for the vice-presidential slot in the upcoming election cycle.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump refuted reports suggesting Haley’s active consideration for the role, affirming, “Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot,” while extending his well wishes to the former South Carolina governor.

Trump’s post contradicted a recent Axios report suggesting Haley was being actively considered for the vice presidential slot, citing sources familiar with the matter. The report speculated on the potential benefits of a Trump-Haley alliance, highlighting the notion of attracting Republicans who may not otherwise support Trump to boost his electoral prospects.

Despite Haley’s notable performance in the Indiana primary, where she garnered over 20% of the vote, her refusal to endorse Trump and their policy disparities have strained their relationship. Additionally, Haley’s continued fundraising efforts, particularly among donors not aligned with Trump, have underscored divisions within the Republican Party.

While Trump’s campaign seeks to bridge fundraising gaps and attract support across various demographic segments, the former president’s selection of a running mate remains pending until the Republican convention in July.

With an extensive list of potential candidates, including governors, senators, and representatives, Trump’s campaign emphasizes its commitment to building a unified political movement aligned with his policy priorities.

As Trump and his team navigate the path to the November general election, their focus remains on galvanizing support and advancing their agenda to secure victory against President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, Trump’s supporters have already begun celebrating his confirmation that Haley would not be chosen as his running mate. The vast majority of Trump supporters have openly despised Haley for her pro-war and anti-freedom messages — with Haley previously expressing support for endless intervention in foreign wars and for forcing Americans to connect their identities to their social media accounts, removing anonymity. Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson previously highlighted the feeling of those in the conservative movement who oppose Haley, stating that a Trump-Haley ticket would be something he would actively oppose, despite being a major Trump supporter. Carlson also previously condemned Haley as a Democrat, noting in an interview: “Strip away all the outward characteristics, and Nikki Haley is identical in her priorities to Joe Biden and the people who back Joe Biden.”
