President Donald Trump has taken a strong stance against anti-Christian discrimination by establishing a new task force aimed at ending religious bias in federal agencies. Attorney General Pam Bondi has been appointed to lead the initiative, which was announced during the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.
Trump signed an executive order directing the task force to investigate government departments, including the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the IRS, for policies that have unfairly targeted Christians. He criticized past administrations for weaponizing federal agencies against religious Americans, pledging that such actions would not continue under his leadership.
Speaking at the prayer breakfast, Trump emphasized his commitment to protecting Christians in schools, workplaces, hospitals, and the military. He pointed to past incidents, such as the closure of churches during the pandemic while other establishments remained open, as clear examples of bias that must be addressed.
In addition to the task force, Trump announced a new commission on religious liberty, which will focus on expanding protections for faith-based organizations. The administration is also launching the White House Faith Office, which will work with religious leaders to ensure their concerns are heard at the highest levels of government.
The initiative has been praised by conservative legal organizations, including First Liberty Institute, whose chief counsel, Kelly Shackelford, said, “We are ready to stand with President Trump to ensure that the religious liberty of every American is safe and secure.”
As part of his broader push for religious freedom, Trump has also moved to roll back federal policies that restricted Christian organizations and has pledged to take further steps to ensure the rights of believers are protected across the country.
