Trump Slams ‘Old Crow’ McConnell: Dems ‘Must Have Something Really Big’ On Him

Former President Trump joined other Republicans Monday to put Senate Minority Leader Mitch “Old Crow” McConnell (R-KY) on blast for helping pass the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill.

McConnell joined 17 other Republicans to team up with all 50 Democrats last week to pass the massive bill to fund the government through September.

Former President Trump offered harsh criticism for the Senate minority leader and his wife, Elaine Chao, on Truth Social.

“The Marxist Democrats must have something really big on Mitch McConnell in order to get him and some of his friendly ‘Republican’ Senators to pass the horrendous ‘All Democrat, All the Way’ OMINOUS Bill. It gives Border Security to other countries, but ZERO $’s to the U.S., it fully funds the corrupt ‘Justice’ Department, FBI (which RIGGED the Presidential Election!), and even the Trump-Hating Special ‘Prosecutor.’ It is also a massive giveaway & capitulation to CHINA, making COCO CHOW so happy!” Trump posted.

He attacked McConnell in another post, writing, “If the Old Crow waited just 10 days, the Republican Majority in the House could have made the ‘Ominous’ Bill MUCH, MUCH, MUCH BETTER. Just another win for the Democrats, Mitch, that wouldn’t have happened if ‘Trump’ were President!”

It is no secret that Trump and McConnell have been at odds with each other for quite some time. A super PAC linked with the Senate minority leader infamously canceled nearly $8 million of ad buys in the Arizona Senate race, a move that was met with fury by the former president and many conservatives alike. Much like his recent insult of McConnell, Trump similarly called him an “Old Broken Crow” at the time.

The former president added even more insult to injury, linking a piece by The Federalist called “GOP Can’t Be Successful Until Mitch McConnell Is Gone.”

Author Mollie Hemingway pulled no punches against McConnell, lambasting his pride in the $1.7 trillion bill.

“Of the $1.7 trillion left-wing spending spree McConnell is working so hard to help Democrats pass, he said, unbelievably, that he was ‘pretty proud of the fact that with a Democratic president, Democratic House, and Democratic Senate, we were able to achieve through this omnibus spending bill essentially all of our priorities,’” she wrote.

“As an indication of how deeply sick and broken and unserious the Senate is, no one had even begun to read the lengthy bill, which was put forward just hours before votes began.”

Hemmingway, who appeared to agree with Trump’s assertion that McConnell is actively working with the left, banally concluded that as long as McConnell maintains his current influence over the Republican Party, conservative voters will have nothing to look forward to other than Democrat policy goals, $1.7 trillion Democrat spending packages, and whatever Republican goals “he can be bothered” to weakly fight for.
