At a rally in Aurora, Colorado, President Donald Trump unveiled “Operation Aurora,” a new plan aimed at eliminating migrant gangs from US soil. The initiative is named after the Colorado town that has been plagued by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which Trump blamed on the Biden-Harris administration’s failure to control illegal immigration.
Trump made a strong promise to remove migrant gangs and restore order in American towns, telling supporters, “Nov. 5, 2024, will be liberation day in America.” He criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for allowing illegal immigration to grow, which he said has led to violent gangs terrorizing communities.
The centerpiece of “Operation Aurora” is the use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, a law that allows the president to deport foreign nationals if they pose a threat to the United States. Trump vowed to send federal law enforcement officers, including ICE and Border Patrol agents, to capture and deport gang members swiftly.
Trump also emphasized the need for strong penalties, including the death penalty, for any migrant who commits murder against a US citizen or law enforcement officer. He promised that illegal immigrant gang members who return after deportation would face a 10-year prison sentence without parole.
Additionally, Trump announced plans to push Congress to ban sanctuary cities, arguing that these policies make the US vulnerable to crime. He said his administration would close the borders and initiate the largest deportation operation in the country’s history.
The rally ended with Trump urging Coloradans to vote for him as a stand against the current immigration crisis.
