Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris’ high staff turnover rate, calling it a clear indicator of her unfitness for the presidency. During an interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance pointed out that 92% of Harris’ campaign staff have left, far higher than typical turnover rates, which he said reflects poorly on her leadership abilities.
“If you’re such an incompetent person that 92% of your staff doesn’t want to work for you, maybe we shouldn’t elect that person as president,” Vance said. He went on to question Harris’s judgment and ability to make decisions during critical moments, especially in the context of foreign relations and potential military conflicts.
Vance then discussed the potential difficulties he and President Donald Trump could encounter if they win the upcoming election. One significant hurdle will be implementing Trump’s immigration policies, including mass deportations. Vance predicted there will be strong opposition from critics who will frame these policies as authoritarian.
Vance also expressed concern about financial challenges that could arise from bond markets. He explained that international corporations could try to undermine a Trump presidency by spiking interest rates, hurting the U.S. economy. Vance highlighted the need for a strong treasury secretary to combat these potential economic issues.
Vance and Carlson are set to continue their conversation during a live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as part of Carlson’s ongoing tour.
