Woke Air Force Training Replaces ‘Mom and Dad’ With Gender-Neutral ‘Parent’

An Air Force Academy Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) presentation, containing materials that “alarmed” cadets, forbids the use of “mom and dad” and prefers “partner” instead of boyfriend or girlfriend.

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) shared the slide presentation with Fox News Digital.

Waltz, a Green Beret and Afghanistan veteran, told Fox during an interview that the tradition of sending letters home to mom and dad, or to a boyfriend or girlfriend, is as old as the military itself.

Waltz later tweeted that the Air Force Academy USAFA was still selling “dad” hats, poking fun at the cultural contradiction of D&I teachings and the military.

Today, Waltz says, cadets are instructed to replace traditional terms and accept the “drive to gender neutrality.” Waltz added that the United States Air Force (USAF) should be more concerned about the “macro aggressions against America.”

The presentation, titled “Diversity & Inclusion: What it is, why we care, & what we can do,” outlines several examples of woke tenets for Air Force cadets to study and adopt.

One slide of the training stresses not to use the terms “colorblind” or “I don’t see color,” or “we’re all just people.” The presentation states, “we see Color/Patterns AND VALUE people for their uniqueness.”

The training includes an exercise in which cadets are split into small groups and asked to list as many animals starting with the letter “G” as they can in one minute.

The exercise concludes by asking each cadet to record the number of animals the group came up with compared to each individual in an effort. The training attempts to link the importance of group diversity to the group’s outcome.

The D&I training asserts that the “need to innovate is critical,” and that is why military leadership has “deemed D&I a warfighting imperative.”

Waltz calls out “alarming parallels” between Soviet and contemporary Chinese military customs and the D&I infecting the U.S. military, warning, “not only do they have diversity and equity officers in the cadet chain of command, they wear a special insignia.”

An Air Force spokesman told Fox News Digital in a statement that the “conversation” was created by cadet leaders and Air Force Academy staff to “introduce all cadets” to definitions of diversity and inclusion.

The spokesman said that there is only one chain of command in the military, and that cadet squadrons contain cadets who act as “advisors to leadership” in areas such as “Character, Honor and Diversity.”

Waltz told Fox News Digital that, “when we are in the majority, we are going to legislate this, and we are going to cut it out of the U.S. military,” and that, “every hour, every day you’re spending training on this stuff, you’re not training on all the other things we need.”

Waltz has received examples of woke training from trainees in the military before, including material from a West Point seminar called, “Understanding Whiteness and White Rage.” Waltz introduced legislation in June that would have banned teaching critical race theory in military academies but the bill was killed by the Democrats.
