Just when Americans thought it was safe to venture back out of the home, the COVID alarmists are returning in full force. Several universities and colleges have reinstated coronavirus mandates, and rumors are swirling of broader action reminiscent of 2020.
In recent days Hollywood studio Lionsgate reinstated its COVID mask mandates for its employees in the film industry. Morris Brown College in Atlanta likewise rolled its masking requirement for students and employees back out.
Just in time for the 2024 election cycle.
Anyone who believes the mandates of 2020 had no effect on the presidential election was not paying attention. And critics now charge that there is mass preparation in the works for a scenario much the same.
At Lionsgate, response manager Sommer McElroy announced that “employees must wear a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office” or when they are actively eating or drinking.
They are also excused from the requirement if they are the only individual present, but it must be a “large open workspace.”

Morris Brown College distributed a memo declaring, “All students and employees are required to wear face masks.”
Some are simply having a difficult time giving up the control over others that the pandemic gave them. Other examples are Rutgers University and Georgetown University, both of which continue to require indoor masking.
The New Jersey institution also mandated that incoming students submit to its COVID-19 vaccine requirement. It further asserted that there will be zero exceptions, though it claimed individual requests to be exempted will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
State Sen. Declan O’Scanlon (R) came to the defense of Rutgers students and faculty. He told NewsNation that he will support any student ejected from the school over their vaccination status. He further called the university’s administration cowards.
Journalist Collin Rugg noted that a TSA whistleblower just days ago revealed that mandates are expected to be back in October.
Besides Lionsgate, Morris Brown and others, the Biden White House is also increasing the volume of its pandemic alarms.
An administration official recently announced, “We will be encouraging all Americans to get those boosters in addition to flu shots and Respiratory Syncytial Virus shots.”
