New York City Mayor Eric Adams thought that creating a strict executive order would deter Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) from sending illegal immigrants to the city — he was wrong. Instead, buses have started dropping them off in New Jersey, where they find other means to make it to the Big Apple.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s office reported that several cities had buses dropping off illegal immigrants at NJ TRANSIT train stations, where they hopped on trains heading to NYC.

Officials in Secaucus, Fanwood, Trenton, and Jersey City have reported that they have all seen buses dropping off illegal immigrants in their cities at train stations destined for NYC.
“It seems quite clear the bus operators are finding a way to thwart the requirements of the [New York City] Executive Order by dropping migrants at the train station in Secaucus and having them continue to their final destination,” Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli said last week.
Gonnelli estimated having at least four buses of illegals arriving in Secaucus Saturday morning.

This new surge in illegals comes after Adams’ executive order restricting buses from dropping off at certain times. Organized by Gov. Abbott, it’s a strategy that undermines the order.
Adams’ office stated that Abbott is treating illegal immigrants like “political pawns,” but as a sanctuary city, the city has to take in all who want to strive for the American Dream.
A spokesperson for Adams also stated that the city is collaborating with neighboring cities and counties to “protect migrants against this cruelty.”
One person that the city cannot count on is Gov. Murphy, who reported that New Jersey cannot take in any more illegals. In 2017, however, Murphy, who was a candidate for governor at the time, stated that he would turn the entire state into a “sanctuary state,” claiming that taking in illegals was about “the goodness of America” and righting the “nation’s moral compass.”
Once again, Democratic officials have shown they have difficulty practicing what they preach. As more illegals make their way to the liberal cities that wanted them, it’s only a matter of time before they all admit what Republicans have been saying the entire time: turn them away, protect our borders, and take care of Americans first.
