“Creepy Porn Lawyer” Michael Avenatti Sentenced To 14 Years Of Prison

Disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti was sentenced to 14 years in prison Monday after he stole millions of dollars from former clients along with other financial crimes.

The DOJ in California released a statement announcing that Avenatti has been sentenced to “168 months in federal prison for stealing millions of dollars from his clients – one of whom was a paraplegic with mental health issues – and for obstructing the IRS’s efforts to collect more than $3 million in payroll taxes from an Avenatti-owned coffee business.”

Avenatti’s sentencing will start after the five years he has already begun serving for stealing from his former client Stormy Daniels and trying to extort $25 million from footwear manufacturer Nike, per the New York Post.

In the eyes of the mainstream media, Avenatti was a bona fide celebrity just a couple of years ago. The fraudster lawyer made appearances on different major cable news networks over 250 times between February 2018 and 2019, according to the Media Research Center.

These displays included 121 showings on CNN, 108 visits to MSNBC, 12 on ABC, seven on CBS, and five on NBC.

Many mocked Avenatti and the media alike over his sudden end in fame. Red State columnist Buzz Patterson appeared to take great joy in the news, writing, “I’m old enough to remember when this chump was a Democrat presidential candidate and @CNN lapped it up.”

Avenatti also famously appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” greeted with a graphic referring to him as “Creepy Porn Lawyer.”
The segment involved a back-and-forth of arguing and insults between Avenatti and show host Tucker Carlson.

At one point in the exchange, Avenatti asked Carlson, “When’s the last time you saw porn?”

“Oh, you busted me,” Carlson responded sarcastically, before he quipped, “Actually, I’m into humiliation porn — that’s why I watch you on CNN.”

Carlson later concluded the interview, saying, “Creepy porn lawyer, great to see you.”

Other media highlights involving the ‘Creepy Porn Lawyer’ include a Vanity Fair published article about his skincare routine, CBS “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert calling him an “existential threat” to the Trump presidency, and a guest appearance on “The View” in which Avenatti discussed his sexual fantasy involving handcuffs.
