During a recent interview, Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed the President Joe Biden poses a “worse threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump, as the latter has launched several attacks on Americans’ First Amendment rights.
Kennedy appeared on CNN alongside host Erin Burnett where he laid out his stance.
“I can make the argument that President Biden is the much worse threat to democracy, and the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history – the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent,” he explained.

The presidential candidate pointed to several platforms he has been removed from such as Instagram in 2021, adding that he believes it was caused by pressure from the Biden administration.
“I can say that because I just won a case in the Federal Court of Appeals, and now before the Supreme Court, that shows that [Biden] started censoring not just me — 37 hours after he took the oath of office, he was censoring me,” Kennedy stated. “No president in the country has ever done that.”
“The greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns, but a president of the United States who used the power of his office to force the social media companies — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter — to open a portal and give access to that portal to the FBI, to the CIA, to the IRS, to CISA, to NIH, to censor his political critics.”
Biden has numerous reasons to want to keep the Independent candidate silent as Kennedy has been an outspoken critic of numerous decisions made by President Biden.
Concerns reached a new high following RFK’s announcement of running mate Nicole Shanahan, a left-leaning lawyer who takes their ticket further toward the left.
During a Democratic National Committee press call in late March, multiple high-ranking officials lamented RFK’s run which they believe will assist Trump in November.
Nonetheless, no amount of concern over another candidate justifies censorship. Biden is clearly shaking in his boot ahead of 2024 and willing to undermine a fair election if it means victory.
