Democratic Denver officials are in the embarrassing situation of having to plead with illegal migrants to leave after foolishly rolling out the red carpet for one and all as a so-called “sanctuary” city.
The shocking video, released by 9NEWS, featured Denver’s Newcomer Communications Liaison Andres Carrera addressing a shelter crowd. He told the gathering that “opportunities are over” in the Mile High City.
Then he begged them to get out of town. “You don’t have to walk anywhere, we can buy you a free ticket. You can go to any city. We can take you to the Canadian border, wherever!”
Carrera then reportedly assured the illegal migrants that more services and a better life await them elsewhere.
He explained in Spanish, “New York gives you more. Chicago gives you more. So, I suggest you go there where there is long-term shelter. There are also more job opportunities there.”
Carrera told the throng that he was not going to block them if they wanted to remain in Denver. But he claimed that the “sanctuary” city has absorbed too many immigrants and that it is out of resources to provide services as more continue to arrive.

He further warned the migrant group that they will “suffer even more” if they remain in the city.
Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston earlier in March announced cuts in city services due to almost $180 million expected to be spent providing for illegal migrants.
That staggering figure would account for 15% of the city budget.
Johnston notably asked city residents to take the illegals into their homes to relieve Denver’s shelter system. It is highly unlikely that there are many takers.
Migrants have arrived in the city in busloads since Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott decided to share the wealth of Biden’s invasion. Sanctuary cities claim to invite migrants to freely enter, and the governor took them at their word.
However, from New York City to Chicago and now Denver, these “sanctuaries” are fiercely backtracking on their pledges to feed and house the world. And as Abbott correctly noted, the number one importer of illegals is not Texas, “it’s Joe Biden.”
Denver officials recently imposed a mandatory limit on how long the arrivals may stay in the city’s shelter system. It is down to two weeks for individuals and six weeks for families accompanied by children.
