Prominent social media figure Tim Pool has thrust himself into the spotlight by donating $10,000 to the legal defense fund of Dylan Brewer, a 19-year-old Florida man facing felony charges for his actions at an intersection adorned with LGBT pride colors.
Brewer’s escapade, captured on surveillance footage, depicts him “intentionally performing multiple burnouts with his vehicle over the LGBTQ pride crosswalk,” according to the Delray Beach Police Department. The incident on February 4 resulted in significant damage to the streetscape painting, described as a “symbol of unity and inclusivity for the LGBTQ community.”

City officials wasted no time in labeling Brewer’s actions as a hate crime. Palm Beach County Human Rights Council (PBCHRC) President Rand Hoch spoke out against Brewer and demanded an aggressive prosecution. “There needs to be consequences so people know if they commit crimes like this, they are going to jail,” he said.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the LGBT pride-painted intersection has been targeted. A similar incident occurred shortly after the mural’s unveiling just last year. Alexander Jerich, involved in a “President Trump Birthday Rally,” used his pickup truck to deface the artwork, resulting in criminal mischief and reckless driving charges.

In 2022, a rainbow-design crosswalk in Atlanta was defaced with swastikas, while during the height of Black Lives Matter protests, a mural outside Trump Tower in Manhattan faced repeated vandalism.
